Two C&O F7s bracket 4 B&O geeps and F7s - October 1968 - 1 of 5 |
Description: |
Typical weekend unit train power at Ridge Rd. The 100+ hoppers of coal have been put away inside Kodak and the crew is heading back in after lunch to sort the go-aways. Note the caboose on the main on the north side. If you knock the brakes off, it will roll past the switch for the Kodak lead to get it on the rear of the go-aways for the short trip back to Brooks Ave. |

C&O 7068 leads a cut of F's out of Kodak September 1965 |
Description: |
C&O 7068 in experimental black & white paint scheme pulling out of the B&O lead at Kodak. I'm standing on the south side of the ridge, looking to the north (and a little west). L.B. Finewood is across the street. Keep in mind the switch to Kodak was on the north side of the ridge at that time, meaning the B&O had two tracks that crossed at grade - the main and the lead into Kodak. The handsome F is in charge of 4-5 others on a Saturday or Sunday unit coal train equipped with road power. Notice the engineer's hand dangling on a nice late summer day. The "flare" is (was) an all too common attribute of roll film when mishandled either installing or removing from the camera, in this case a 127 Brownie. |
